Cheerful Activities for Children during the School Holidays

2015 is coming to an end and the school holidays are upon us. This is a blissful, magical time for commuters around the country as road congestion and traffic jams are significantly reduced. However, for parents across Malaysia this can be a nightmare as they struggle to come up with new things to do to keep their children amused and entertained.

‘Mum…..I’m bored! Play with me Daddy!’

To avoid these inevitable protests from the children it’s important that you plan fun activities they can get involved with, learn from and hopefully burn their energy to give you some peace and quiet!

Fortunately, Malaysia is full of great activities for kids and families and EZTakaful has compiled some of them for you to get out and explore with your families.

Get On a Fun2Sea Voyage with Aquaria KLCC.

Keep an eye on the schedule for the Giant Pacific Octopus who can unwrap presents, the magical real life mermaids, and of course, Scuba Santa. Don’t forget to head to the MoonLab at Station Aquarius where via the newly launched Holodeck you and the kids can go on an augmented reality journey (Daily, 2-3pm).

Help your child discover their future career

Based in Petaling Jaya, Kidzania is an edutainment centre designed to prepare kids for the workplace. Resembling a mini-city, with child-sized replicas of office buildings and cars, kids get to take turns ‘working’ in over 90 different types of jobs, including pretending to be a surgeon, pilot, secret agent, lawyer, news anchor and fire fighter. Kids at the simulated News Straits Times Press office are given the task of roaming the ‘city’ to find news to write and publish or deliver copies of the paper around the city or collect them for recycling.

The best part is that you shouldn’t worry about your child’s safety as on-site Zupervisors are thoroughly professional and handle kids extremely well. Plus to help you keep track of your child at this busy and popular one-stop learning centre, they have to wear an electronic tracking bracelet that prevents them from leaving Kidzania without their parents.
